Free Services and On Location

In addition to our unique scalp care technique, PSCS has created a method to screen and treat children on location such as at their school, summer camp, or after-school program through our mobile service vehicles. This eliminates the need for children to be unexpectedly sent home from school, easing the burden on parents who would otherwise have to leave their jobs to provide supervision, saving the school lost reimbursement due to a student's absence, and ensure children are treated safely and effectively.

Screening and Treatment Process

We use a proven three-step process that was developed and refined by our partner, Hair Fairies of Los Angeles and New York City. This process is the recommended method of treatment by hundreds of pediatricians throughout Los Angeles County and New York who consistently write prescriptions for these services. Since Hair Fairies was established in 1999, more than 10,000 people have been successfully treated by this process, which has now been adopted by PSCS:

1. Evaluation
   During the first step, specially trained personnel manually screen the hair for nits and lice. It is recommended that the entire family, such as siblings attending the same school, come in for an evaluation, as it is highly possible that more than one family member may be infested.
2. Nit-Removal
   If nits and lice are found, our personnel move on to step two, which is manually removing the parasites. Our combination of highly trained staff and patented combs and rinses results in the fast and safe removal of nits and lice.
3. Treatment
   The final step of the process is the application of our non-toxic treatment, a temporary breeding inhibitor. During this process our Hair Fairies use a patented herbal shampoo. This shampoo is non-toxic, organic and enzymatic. The shampoo damages the nervous system of the bugs and loosens the glue that attaches the egg to the hair.
